The STAR Inventory

Feeling a little overwhelmed and not quite at the top of your game?

If yes, you are in great company with the rest of the world who are navigating uncharted territory and constant change …daily, hourly and minute-by-minute!

The tool I created for clients in life and professional transition might be just what you need to show up as your best possible self during unfamiliar and ever-changing times. My STAR Inventory helps you assess your wellness in the following key areas:

S – self-care

T – thoughts

A – adaptability

R – relationships

Take a minute each day (or ideally a few times a day) to evaluate how well you are doing in each area of the STAR inventory. Below are a few questions to ask yourself each morning. By focusing on these essential areas, you will give yourself a vital boost during these trying times.

Take good care, be well and remember to give yourself a periodic high five!

SELF-CARE

  • How and when will I move my body throughout the day?

  • What exercise habits do I have in place to keep me physically (and mentally!) fit today?

  • How will I take care of my mental health (breathing exercises, meditation, connecting to others…)?

  • How am I treating myself – am I being patient and compassionate?

THOUGHTS

  • Where do I need my thoughts to be today so I can be on my ‘A’ game?

  • What is within my control and how can I focus my attention in this area as opposed to things outside of my control?

  • What replacement thoughts will be helpful if my mind goes to the negative?

ADAPTABILITY

  • How adaptable am I during this time?

  • What am I doing well in terms of adapting (where have I rolled with the punches, been innovative and creative)?

  • What do I need to do to move forward in a healthy and productive manner?

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Who in my life fills me up?

  • Who do I need to connect with regularly to get the boost I need?

  • What relationships do I want to cultivate for personal and professional growth?
